Process:

3. Boot and begin restore (StorageCraft environment), looks for datafiles...
This is where things break down, the backed up files are on a NTFS drive, that I want to plug into the ESXi server to allow this Guest to read. I don't want ESX to modify or add anything to thie drive, in fact I need to perform this operation periodically to test system backup and restores.
I have a hot-swap drive cage in the ESXi server, with empty bays so conviently it is easy to plug the drive in live and begin the process as needed.
Is there any way to do this or do I always have to attach drive to a windows box, share on network and copy (slowly) across network to do restore?
Thanks in advance!

Hi i dont think its good practise first connect to windows then share and restore .
which drive you have ( iscsi or usb ) ?
Yours,
